Monsoon Arrival in Jharkhand
In Jharkhand, relief from the heat is expected soon as per the weather department, with the possibility of monsoon entering the state between 20th to 22nd June. Additionally, there is a high chance of rainfall in several parts of Jharkhand starting from 19th June, with wind speeds of 50 to 60 km/h. The weather expert S.C. Mandal has indicated that the likelihood of rainfall in the state from 19th June is increasing, and it remains to be seen the intensity and amount of rainfall before the monsoon can be declared.
Pre-Monsoon Showers and Temperature Drop
According to the weather department, Jharkhand may experience a drop in maximum temperatures by three to four degrees over the next three days. Today, the possibility of rainfall has been forecasted in 6 districts of the state: East Singhbhum, Khunti, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and West Singhbhum. During this time, winds with speeds of 40 to 50 km/h may also blow in these areas.
Heatwave Conditions in Jharkhand
Recently, many districts in Jharkhand faced severe heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring above 42 degrees in three districts: Garhwa, Palamu, and Ramgarh. The weather department has issued an orange alert for the north-western and adjacent areas of the state due to the heatwave risk, while some relief was provided by light rain in some places during the evening hours.
Weather Forecast and Caution
While some districts may continue to experience heatwave conditions, there is a possibility of rain in certain parts as the trough extends from North and West Tripura to West Bengal, affecting some districts in Jharkhand. The weather department has advised caution regarding heatwave conditions in some districts and has urged people to stay indoors if possible until the monsoon arrives, as weather fluctuations are expected to continue.
