Bridge Collapses in Bihar

Recently, incidents of bridges collapsing are becoming more common in Bihar. In a recent case, the bridge over the Bakra River at Paradiya Ghat in Sikti block of Araria district collapsed, costing around 12 crores. This incident has caused a political uproar in the state, with opposition parties blaming the Nitish government.

Immediate Action Taken

Following the bridge collapse, the Rural Works Minister of Bihar, Ashok Choudhary, took strict action against those responsible. Engineers and contractors involved in the construction of the collapsed bridge have been blacklisted. A high-level investigation team has been formed to examine the quality of materials used and workmanship.

Nitin Gadkari’s Response

In response to the incident, Central Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also shared a post on social media. Minister Choudhary has stated that stringent action will be taken against all individuals found guilty after the investigation. The central and state governments are working to address the issue and ensure accountability.
