E-Rickshaw Rule in Bihar
The e-rickshaw coding system, which was previously in effect only in Bhagalpur, will now be implemented across the entire state of Bihar. The Secretary of the government, Sanjay Agrawal, has issued a letter providing information on the new rules regarding the operation of e-rickshaws and toto vehicles under Section 67(3) of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.
Registration based on Road Capacity
In Bihar, registration numbers for auto rickshaws and e-rickshaws will now be issued by the Transport Department based on the carrying capacity of the roads in the areas where these vehicles operate. This system, which was initially limited to Bhagalpur district, will now be extended to the entire state of Bihar.
Different Codes for Different Zones
According to the new rules, different zones will be designated in all districts of Bihar, including the capital Patna, for the operation of auto rickshaws and e-rickshaws. Special color coding and stickers will be applied to auto rickshaws to differentiate them from general passenger vehicles.
Formation of a Team for Implementation
A meeting was held on Wednesday with the District Magistrate of Bhagalpur to discuss the new rules, which was attended by all officials of the Transport Department. The areas related to the routes will also be tagged during route determination to ensure a robust system of operation. Additionally, a team of eight members, with the District Magistrate as the chairperson, will be formed to implement this new plan statewide.
बिहार में ई-रिक्शा कोडिंग प्रणाली को अब पूरे राज्य में लागू किया जा रहा है। राज्य सरकार ने नए नियमों को जारी करने का आदेश दिया है, जिसके अनुसार ऑटो और ई-रिक्शा के परिचालन के लिए अलग-अलग कोड निर्धारित किए जाएंगे। इसके साथ ही पार्किंग और सुरक्षा की व्यवस्था को भी मजबूत किया जाएगा। इस नए नियम को लेकर एक आठ सदस्यीय टीम का गठन किया जाएगा, जिसका अध्यक्ष जिलाधिकारी होंगे।
