Tragic Incident in Araria

In Araria, during a severe storm, a tin sheet flew off from a neighbor’s roof and hit a man on the neck, resulting in his death. The deceased, Jagdish Sardar, was 55 years old and was sitting inside his thatched house when the incident occurred. He went outside to see the flying plastic sheet, and that’s when the tin sheet hit him. He was critically injured and went back inside his courtyard. Unfortunately, he passed away before his family could take him to the hospital. The incident took place in the Sirsiya Kala Panchayat under Bhayaram Bishanpur Ward No. 9.

Family of the Deceased

Jagdish Sardar was the sole breadwinner for his family, who worked as a laborer to support them. His family members shared that he had two sons and a daughter, with one of his sons unmarried. His elder son lives in Punjab, while the younger one resides in Araria with the rest of the family. Jagdish was a hardworking laborer who ensured his family’s well-being through his earnings.

Local Response

Local social workers like Arun Singh, Dilip Yadav, and Jatadhari Jha mentioned that the roofs of around 15 houses in the vicinity were damaged due to the storm. Several local residents, including Sunil Sardar, Shiva Sardar, Somilal Sardar, Sumelal Sardar, were affected by the incident. Political workers and social workers present at the scene have demanded compensation from the district administration for the affected families.

Official Statement

The local authorities have been informed about the incident by the village head. However, there is no provision for compensation in cases of death due to such accidents caused by natural disasters. The authorities have assured that an investigation will be conducted into the damaged houses, and further actions will be taken accordingly.
