Bihar Weather Update

The weather in Bihar has once again changed, bringing relief to people from the heat with the arrival of rain. On Thursday, the monsoon became active in the state, bringing strong winds and rain in many places. Friday morning also saw heavy rain in several areas with dark clouds looming in the sky. The weather department has issued an alert for the next five days, indicating that the weather may remain similar.

Possibility of Rain Today

Patna and surrounding areas have once again experienced active monsoon conditions. The decrease in maximum temperatures due to rain in late July and early August has provided relief to the residents. According to the weather center’s report, there is a possibility of rain in Patna and surrounding areas for the next five days. Currently, a trough line of the monsoon is passing through Dehri in Bihar, with a rain belt forming over West Bengal.

Expected Above Average Rainfall in August

The India Meteorological Department forecasts 263 millimeters of rainfall in Bhagalpur district during August. After a 36% decrease in rainfall in July, there is an expected increase of 5-10% in rainfall in August. Good rainfall is also expected in September in the district, with the monsoon expected to retreat by October 10th. Last year, the first week of October saw more than 100 millimeters of rainfall in the district.

Reasons for Weather Changes

The sudden changes in the weather in Bihar are due to the movement of the monsoon trough line. One trough line is passing through Dehri in Bihar, while another is passing through Southeast Bihar. This has led to increased rainfall in Northern and Southwest Bihar in August. Weather expert Dr. S.N. Pandey predicts that the monsoon trough will move northwards in the next four to five days, bringing scattered to moderate rainfall in North Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
