Missing Youth Found Dead in Begusarai
A young man who had been missing since Wednesday evening in Begusarai was found dead floating in the water today. The incident took place near the Gupta-Lakhminia dam in the Mufassil Thana area. The deceased was identified as Yashwant Kumar (22), a resident of Paspura in the Mufassil Thana area.
Family’s Concerns and Police Investigation
According to his family, Yashwant Kumar had left home on Wednesday evening to visit his aunt’s house in Ramdiari. However, he went missing after that and his mobile phone was also switched off. Concerned about his disappearance, the family had filed a complaint at the Mufassil Thana suspecting kidnapping and murder by someone in the neighborhood. The police assured ongoing search operations.
Discovery of the Body
Meanwhile, people from nearby Bahiyar, about half a kilometer away from the Gupta-Lakhminia dam, created a commotion after spotting a body floating in the water. The crowd gathered at the scene included a shopkeeper from the village who had been involved in a dispute with Yashwant on July 2. The family identified the body, and the police were informed immediately.
Investigation and Postmortem
The family revealed that Yashwant had been involved in a dispute with a shopkeeper, leading to a case being filed against him. Yashwant had been sleeping at his aunt’s house in Ramdiari to avoid arrest. He was last seen leaving his home to go to his aunt’s house for dinner on Wednesday night, after which he went missing. The discovery of the body has caused shock among the family members, and the police are conducting a thorough investigation. The body has been sent to the Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination.
