Floods in Raxa Village, Muzaffarpur District

In Raxa village of Marwan block in Muzaffarpur district, a dam on the canal broke late Thursday night, causing flooding. As a result, floodwater entered thousands of homes in the eastern part of Raxa village. Villagers are leaving their homes and moving to higher ground to escape the rising water levels.

Impact on Residents

Nagendra Sah, a resident, mentioned that water levels suddenly began to rise at night, forcing people to abandon their homes. The district administration has not provided any assistance yet, as this is the first time the village has experienced flooding. The water levels continue to rise, submerging entire homes and disrupting children’s education.

Response from Authorities

Upon receiving information about the situation on Thursday evening, the district administration mobilized a team including executive engineers, surveyors, and engineers to the site. Officials are working to repair the broken dam and have managed to control the water flow for now. The construction work is expected to be completed in two to three days.

Future Outlook

Efforts are underway to mitigate the impact of the flooding in Raxa village, with authorities working to prevent further damage and provide relief to affected residents. The community is hopeful that the situation will improve soon, allowing them to return to their homes and resume their normal lives.
