Condition of Roads in Saragawa Panchayat
The road connecting Kantari Urdu Primary School and Buiya Tole Navsrijit Primary School in Saragawa Panchayat of Dev Block area in Aurangabad district has turned into a muddy mess. The residents of this village are still forced to walk on this unpaved road. Around 200 marginalized families reside in Kantari and Buiya Tola, with nearly 150 families being minorities. They face a lot of difficulties during the rainy season due to the muddy road.
Difficulty in Commuting
Approximately 6 to 7 villages’ residents use this road for commuting. People say that this is the first Panchayat in Aurangabad district where there is no proper road for commuting. The villagers mentioned that during the rainy season, instead of a road, there is a pond visible. The school children and teachers find it extremely challenging to commute, and there is a risk of accidents occurring.
Unfulfilled Promises by Representatives
15 years ago, the head of the village, Raghavendra Pratap Singh, had initiated the work of laying bricks for the road. However, no representative has taken any action since then. Krishna Kumar stated that representatives only care about getting votes. All the elected representatives had promised to construct the road if they win, but nothing has been done so far.
Response from Development Officer
Prakhand Development Officer Dev Ankesh Kumar stated that he was not aware of the situation but will visit the area to assess the conditions. He assured that necessary actions will be taken after the inspection. The residents hope that their plea for a proper road will finally be heard and addressed.
