Teacher in Police Custody ★Accused
On July 31st, in Madhepura, criminals shot a teacher who was on his way to school, leaving him seriously injured. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Friday night. The deceased, Chandrashekhar Jha (47), was a resident of Ward 1 of the Sapardah Panchayat in the Puraini police station area.
Incident Details
Teacher Chandrashekhar Jha was going to Singhara Middle School in Alamnagar from his home on July 31st like any other day. About a kilometer and a half away from his home, near Sheeshbannee Diversion on NH-106, the criminals riding a bike shot at him. The bullet hit the right side of his back. Upon being shot, Chandrashekhar fell on the road along with his bike. The criminals fled the scene after the incident.
Immediate Response
Hearing the gunshot, people in the vicinity gathered at the scene of the incident. They informed the family members of the injured Chandrashekhar and admitted him to the Puraini Primary Health Center for treatment. After initial treatment, he was referred to a higher center for better treatment. His treatment was ongoing at the Mayaganj Hospital in Bhagalpur. As his condition worsened on Friday evening, he was being referred to Patna when he passed away on the way.
Accusations and Arrest
Meanwhile, the police have arrested Niranjankumar Bhagat alias Babloo, a resident of Madheli in the Alamnagar police station area, on charges of shooting teacher Chandrashekhar Jha. The accused is also a teacher at Singhara Middle School in Alamnagar. Avinash Kumar, the SDPO of Udakishunganj, mentioned that the issue of shooting teacher Chandrashekhar Jha over an old dispute has come to light. The arrested teacher Niranjankumar Bhagat has a criminal history. He has several cases registered against him in Alamnagar, Madhepura Sadar, as well as the Bhawanipur police station in Purnia.
