Woman Murdered in Bhojpur

In the Shripalpur village of the Gidha police station area in Bhojpur, a married woman was murdered on Sunday evening. The incident has caused a sensation in the village and surrounding areas. After the incident, the in-laws fled from the house.

The relatives of the deceased are accusing her in-laws of demanding a motorcycle and then hanging her to death. The victim, Kumkum Devi, was the wife of Arun Saw, a resident of Shripalpur village in the Gidha police station area.

Background of the Incident

According to Sunil Kumar, the brother of the deceased, his father Hare Ram God had arranged Kumkum Devi’s marriage with Arun Saw, the son of Yogendra Saw from Shripalpur village in the Gidha police station area, on July 12, 2024. Just a few days after the wedding, demands for a motorcycle started, leading to continuous harassment.

Family’s Reaction and Police Investigation

Upon reaching the hospital, Sunil Kumar mentioned that his sister had gone to her maternal home 15 days ago and returned a week ago. On Sunday evening, they received a call from Ravi, also known as Dhabbu, informing them that his sister had hanged herself. When the family reached Shripalpur village, they found the police outside their house and the in-laws missing. Allegations have been made against Arun Saw, Ravi, and other family members for the murder, but the police are investigating the matter.
