Illegal Gas Refilling Operation Busted in Patna

A crackdown on illegal gas refilling activities was carried out in the Golghar area of Gandhi Maidan Thana in Lodhipur, Chajjubagh. One shopkeeper named Danish Khan was arrested for illegally refilling gas near Taj Electricals at Golghar Chowk. The operation was led by Magistrate Priyanka Sharma, who formed a team for conducting raids in the area.

Raid Conducted on Multiple Shops

On Monday, more than a dozen shops were raided in the Gandhi Maidan area, with the presence of the Magistrate. During the raids, cylinders were not found in all shops except Danish’s shop, where 3 seal broken cylinders were confiscated. The police confirmed that necessary action was taken under the Essential Commodities Act against the accused.

Strict Action Against Offenders

Following the orders of the Patna DM, strict actions are being taken against those involved in illegal gas refilling. Refilling gas from large cylinders to small ones or removing seals before usage is considered a violation of the Essential Commodities Act 1955 and LPG Control Order 2000. Offenders will face legal consequences for such activities.

Ongoing Investigation

An investigation is currently underway based on the application received from the Magistrate. The police are taking further actions against the offenders involved in illegal gas refilling activities. Authorities are ensuring that strict measures are in place to prevent such illegal practices in the future.
