PACS President Accused of Embezzlement
A primary FIR has been lodged against the president of the PACS in Kudarkat, Motihari, for irregularities in the procurement of paddy. The district cooperative officer directed the filing of this FIR against the PACS president for misappropriation in the acquisition of rice during the Bihar state Kharif marketing season of 2023-24. The president allegedly embezzled approximately 56 lakh rupees of government funds by falsely claiming a certain quantity of rice.
Irregularities in Rice Procurement
The accused PACS president has purchased 469.70 MT of rice, while the Bihar State Food Corporation in Motihari was supposed to receive 319.4 MT. However, only 174 MT has been supplied so far, leaving a shortfall of 145.4 MT. This discrepancy caught the attention of the cooperative department, leading to the initiation of legal action against the president.
Defiance and Investigation
Despite repeated instructions to the PACS president to attend review meetings, he failed to comply. Subsequently, a physical inspection of the PACS warehouse revealed that it was empty, with no trace of the procured rice. The cooperative officer filed a report accusing the president of embezzling 258.575 MT of rice, amounting to approximately 56 lakh 44 thousand 92 rupees.
Legal Action Taken
The FIR for the embezzlement of government funds has been lodged against the PACS president at the Chaudadanwa police station. The investigation continues into the alleged misappropriation of funds in the rice procurement process, with further legal action expected to follow.
मोतिहारी के छौड़ादानो प्रखंड क्षेत्र के कुदरकट पैक्स अध्यक्ष के खिलाफ प्रखंड सहकारिता पदाधिकारी ने गबन की प्राथमिकी दर्ज कराई है। उसने फर्जी आंकड़ा बताकर लगभग 56 लाख सरकारी रुपये का गबन कर लिया है। पैक्स अध्यक्ष के अभिलेख में 469.70 एमटी धान क्रय किया गया है, जिसकी कुल राशि लगभग 56 लाख 44 हजार छह सौ 92 रुपये है। इस मामले में सहकारिता प्रसार पदाधिकारी ने गोदाम में जांच करते हुए पैक्स अध्यक्ष पर गबन की जानकारी दी। इसके बाद प्राथमिकी छौड़ादानो थाना में दर्ज कराई गई है।
