Violent Clash in Gopalganj
In a village in the foreign colony area of Thawe police station in Gopalganj, a violent clash broke out between two groups. During the clash, three people, including a woman, were severely injured and were immediately admitted to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital for treatment. The accused of the attack have alleged that a witch was responsible for the injuries.
Background of the Incident
Bittu Yadav, one of the injured victims, revealed that a year ago, a son was born to his neighbor in the foreign colony area. However, the child tragically passed away soon after birth. Blaming the mother, Minta Devi, for the child’s death, the accused continuously harassed her, accusing her of being a witch. The situation escalated over time, leading to the violent clash on Tuesday.
Police Investigation
Despite the ongoing verbal abuse, the victims did not report the harassment to the police out of fear. On Tuesday, when the situation worsened, the accused relatives barged into the victims’ house and physically assaulted them, resulting in injuries to three individuals. The Thawe police station in-charge, Dheeraj Kumar, confirmed that no formal complaint had been lodged yet. Once a complaint is filed, the police will investigate the matter and take necessary action.

The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with many demanding justice for the victims. The local authorities are expected to intervene and ensure that the culprits are held accountable for their actions.
