Gaya Prepares for 2025 Pitrapaksha Mela with Comprehensive Arrangements and Monitoring Across 43 Zones

The Pitripaksha Mela in Gaya is set for 2025, and the district administration is busy preparing for it. The entire mela area has been divided into 43 zones for better management. Senior officials from various departments, including police, will be assigned to oversee these zones to ensure everything runs smoothly.

District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar and Senior Superintendent of Police Anand Kumar held a briefing with all senior officers today. They emphasized the importance of this mela, known for attracting numerous pilgrims from across the country. The officials are responsible for managing the large crowds, especially from early morning to afternoon when the temple areas are busiest.

The officials are required to coordinate effectively to make sure all arrangements are in place, including electricity, drinking water, and sanitation. They will regularly inspect their assigned areas and report any issues immediately. A checklist has been provided to help them track their responsibilities during the event.

Some key duties include ensuring cleanliness at donation sites, managing waste disposal properly, and making sure that public toilets are available. The officials will also monitor traffic flow and ensure that vehicles use designated routes to avoid congestion.
