This article talks about the upcoming change in weather in Bihar, with expected rains and thunderstorms.

People in Bihar are facing a lot of discomfort due to the intense heat. However, a change in the weather is expected starting Monday. The Meteorological Department has stated that the monsoon, which has been weak, will now begin to pick up speed.

A yellow alert has been issued for 20 districts in Bihar for thunderstorms and rain. In the next 24 hours, strong winds of 30-40 km/h along with rain are expected. Some areas might even experience waterlogging due to heavy rainfall.

As of Sunday, places like Gaya, Dehri, Madhubani, and Araria have already recorded light rain, while the maximum temperature has remained around 37 °C. The weather is predicted to change significantly in the coming days, bringing relief to the people.

Heavy rainfall is anticipated in 25 districts, especially in North and Southwest Bihar, including areas like Araria and Kishanganj. A yellow alert is in place because of the risk of lightning strikes. Currently, Bihar is 31% short of its normal rainfall this season.

With the expected rains, the temperature is likely to drop by about 3 °C. The upcoming rainy days should help to reduce the rainfall deficit, providing much-needed relief from the heat.

  • A change in weather is expected starting Monday.
