Patna Metro is about to start operations with trial runs completed and fare details announced.
Patna is all set to welcome its first metro service! Recently, the first successful trial run of the Patna Metro took place, and it looks like the metro could start by the end of September. A special ceremony was held before the trial, where a coconut was worshipped to bless the launch.
The Patna Metro Rail Corporation has revealed the fare structure for passengers. A ride between two stations will cost Rs 15, while traveling across multiple stations will cost Rs 30. For example, traveling from Danapur to Patna Junction will also be Rs 30, as will the fare from Patna Junction to ISBT.
This new metro service will make commuting much easier for people in Patna. The metro will initially run from the depot to Bhootnath station. The officials are hopeful that the inauguration will happen soon, and they are waiting for a date from the Prime Minister.
During the trials, the system’s performance, safety, and track stability were tested. The trials were successful, but some areas like Bhootnath and Giromile stations still have unfinished work, including incomplete pathways and lack of parking arrangements.
In the first phase, the Patna Metro will consist of trains with three bogies, painted in ocher color, reflecting the cultural identity of Bihar. With preparations underway and trials looking good, Patna residents are eagerly waiting for their new metro service to begin operations.
