This article shares details about new train services and changes in Bihar’s East Central Railway operations.

Big news for train passengers in Bihar! The East Central Railway is making some important changes to its train services. Starting from September 12, 2025, 18 trains will operate differently to meet the needs of local passengers, especially in areas like Bhojpur, Patna, Saharsa, and Seemanchal.

One of the key updates is the Jayanagar-Danapur-Ara Intercity Express, which will now run directly from Jayanagar to Ara. The return train will leave from Ara, making it easier for passengers to travel. Additionally, the Kolkata-Patna-Ara Garib Rath Express will also connect directly to Ara, enhancing travel options from Kolkata.

Furthermore, trains like the Ara-Rajendra Nagar Terminal-New Jalpaiguri Express and the Ara-Rajendra Nagar Terminal-Kamahya Capital Express will now start from Ara. This change means that people from the Bhojpur region will not have to travel to Patna just to catch these trains. This service will begin on September 12, 2025, with the Kamakhya-Rajendra Nagar Capital Express also coming directly to Ara.

In addition, Saharsa will benefit from expanded services. Trains like the Narpatganj-Saharsa-Amritsar Jansadharan Express and the Ahmedabad-Barauni-Saharsa Express will now run to Saharsa. This will improve connectivity for passengers traveling from far-off places like Bangalore.

This decision will make Ara a major railway hub, helping millions of passengers in Ara and Saharsa. The new services will save time for locals and offer direct connections for longer journeys, making travel much more convenient.

Summary:

  • East Central Railway is changing operations for 18 trains.

  • New direct services to and from Ara starting from September 12, 2025.

  • Bhojpur residents will benefit from less travel to Patna.

  • Saharsa gets expanded train services for better connectivity.

  • Ara is becoming a key railway hub for the region.
