Darbhanga Protests Erupt Over YouTuber Assault; RJD Demands Minister’s Dismissal and Protection for Dilip Sahni

In Darbhanga, Bihar, the political atmosphere is heated due to an assault case involving a YouTuber named Dilip Sahni. The Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, visited the Sinhwada police station to file a case against the minister, Jeevesh Kumar, who is accused in this incident. So far, three FIRs have been filed in connection with this case. The RJD party, supporting Dilip Sahni, organized a major protest at Karpoori Chowk in Darbhanga. Numerous activists, including prominent figures like former Union Minister Ali Asraf Fatmi and former MLA Bhola Yadav, gathered to shout anti-government slogans and demanded the immediate removal of Minister Jeevesh Kumar from his position.

RJD leader Panna Yadav has criticized the minister’s actions, claiming they reflect a feudal mindset, reminiscent of Bihar’s 90s politics. He stated that the only mistake of the YouTuber was raising questions about the poor condition of the roads. The protesters believe this incident is not just about the YouTuber but also about the dignity of the backward communities.

Senior leader Bhola Yadav pointed out that the current government seems to protect those who harm marginalized communities. He raised concerns about the lack of response from the authorities when a public figure faced insults, contrasting it with the uproar over comments made about the Prime Minister’s mother.

The ongoing protests in Darbhanga are directly challenging the government in Patna. The RJD is demanding protection for Dilip Sahni and his family, along with the dismissal of Minister Jeevesh Kumar. The outcome of this situation could lead to significant political changes in the region.
