Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announces new development schemes for Kaimur district, benefiting local residents.
Today, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched 178 development schemes worth Rs 980.15 crore for Kaimur district. This event took place at Sardar Ballabhbhai Patel College in Bhabhua, where he also inaugurated projects remotely. Among these schemes, 51 are valued at Rs 854.66 crore, while 127 others cost Rs 125.49 crore.
The new initiatives include significant projects like the Gangajal Odd Irrigation Scheme, costing Rs 528.44 crore, and road expansions such as the Kudra-Chaenri-Malipur Road, which will cost Rs 147 crore. Other plans involve constructing a road from Rehal to Rohtasgarh Fort for Rs 66.89 crore and developing degree colleges and sports grounds at a total expense of Rs 239.46 crore.
During the event, the Chief Minister interacted with pensioners and beneficiaries present at the college. Many expressed their gratitude, especially since the pension for elderly, disabled, and widowed individuals has increased from Rs 400 to Rs 1100. Additionally, domestic consumers are now receiving 125 units of electricity for free, allowing them to save money for other needs.
The Jeevika Didis shared that they are now able to get bank loans at a low interest rate of 7%. The Chief Minister also announced that the honorarium for Mamta sisters has been doubled, and ASHA workers will see their honorarium tripled. These changes have brought joy to many artists as well, with a pension of Rs 3,000 per month now available.
In his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted the growth of self-help groups since 2006, which has empowered many women in the state. He encouraged the Jeevika Didis to continue their good work and assured them of the government’s support. Attendees included various officials and representatives, all present to witness these important announcements.
