In Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is planning to visit Sameli block in Katihar district on September 27. He will be unveiling the statue of Mandal and addressing the public. Preparations for this event are underway, with barricading work happening along National Highway 31 early Friday morning.

Sadly, during the preparations, a serious accident occurred at around 4 am when a speeding Scorpio vehicle struck two workers who were working nearby. The vehicle did not stop and crashed into them, resulting in their tragic deaths on the spot.

The deceased workers have been identified as Haleem, aged 40, and his nephew Mo. Gulzar, 24, both from Hajipur in Katihar. When their family heard the news, it caused a lot of distress. Angry relatives and villagers blocked the highway, demanding compensation from the government for the loss.

The accident happened near Kurseli police station area, leading to a traffic jam on the highway. Police and local administration arrived to manage the situation and clear the road. The bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital in Katihar for post-mortem examinations.

Witnesses reported that the Scorpio was speeding and did not attempt to brake before the collision. The families of the victims believe that better safety measures could have prevented this tragedy and are urging the government for immediate financial help and jobs for them.
