Patna is set to welcome a metro train and an electric ship on the Ganges. Both projects aim to improve transportation in the city.
Big news for Patna! The city is getting two amazing gifts soon. The metro train is expected to start by the end of this month. At the same time, Patna has received its first electric ship called ‘MV-Gomadharkunwar’ for the water metro on the Ganges.
This stylish electric ship was welcomed at the Gaighat port by important officials from the Inland Waterways Authority. They celebrated its arrival, which comes after an agreement was signed between the Bihar tourism department and the authority just a few weeks ago.
This ship is designed to carry 50 tourists comfortably and will start operations between Digha Ghat and Kangan Ghat. It will be ready to operate around Dussehra, with a fare expected to be between twenty to thirty rupees per kilometer. Before that, it will undergo a two-day setup by the technical team.
The ship, built at a cost of about 12 crores, is fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern features like CCTV cameras and sound systems. It has large windows so passengers can enjoy beautiful views of the Ganges while traveling.
Once everything is set, the ship will run trial journeys on the Ganges, covering distances of 6.5 km and 9.5 km between various ghats. After a successful trial, it will be available for tourists, making travel on the Ganges much more enjoyable.
