What’s inside:

The weather in Bihar is changing rapidly with sudden rain and heat, affecting daily life and agriculture.

Weather in Bihar is acting quite strange these days. One moment it’s really sunny and hot, and then suddenly it rains. Recently, Patna experienced a late-night downpour after a day of sweltering heat, but even after the rain, the temperature stayed high. This hot weather is making life tough for everyone in the capital.

The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for 26 districts in Bihar for Sunday. They expect some light to moderate rain in different areas soon. They also mentioned that the temperature might rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, which could be uncomfortable for many people. While South and Central Bihar might see intermittent rain, North Bihar may remain cloudy.

On Sunday, most districts, including Patna, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, and Sitamarhi, are likely to stay dry. Only the western border areas and Seemanchal might receive some light rain. The temperature is expected to go up by 2 to 4 degrees, making it quite humid for the residents.

As Durga Puja approaches, the weather could remain humid until October 1. There may be strong winds reaching up to 50 km/h, and light rain is expected at times. After October 2, the monsoon might become active again, bringing heavy rains in many places, including Patna, which could have cloudy weather and light rain today.

For farmers, this erratic weather is concerning. Even though there was unusual rainfall last week, the overall rainfall this season is 29% less than usual. This shortage of rain could impact kharif crops like paddy, which need sufficient moisture to thrive. If the rain does not improve soon, it could affect the harvest.

Summary:

  • Weather in Bihar is unpredictable with heat and sudden rain.

  • Rain alert issued for 26 districts on Sunday.

  • Most districts may remain dry, with some light rain in specific areas.

  • Humidity expected to increase as Durga Puja approaches.

  • Farmers face challenges due to less rainfall affecting crops.
