A strong storm hit Nauhatta Nagar Panchayat in Saharsa district on the evening of Saturday, October 4, 2025. The winds were so fierce that they damaged roofs and walls of many houses, especially in wards 17 and 18. An old tree also fell between the Nauhatta and Bihra police station areas, blocking the road and creating chaos.

Local residents reported heavy rain and thunder during the storm. Six families, including Dilip Sah, Pappu Sah, Ashok Sah, Sohalia Devi, Bindeswari, and Chandwari, suffered severe damage to their homes. Their houses were left in ruins due to the storm’s impact.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported from this incident. Some individuals did sustain minor injuries, but they managed to find safety in time. While the damages were considerable, it was a relief that everyone survived.

The local community is now calling for help from the authorities. They want immediate relief and compensation for the affected families so that they can rebuild their homes. The fallen tree has also caused a disruption in traffic, making it difficult for people to travel in the area.
