What’s inside:
A major arrest has been made in Bihar as the main suspect in Naxalite incidents from 2019 has been captured by the police.
Recently, Patna Police and the Special Task Force (STF) got a big success by arresting Satendra Ravidas. He is the main accused in several Naxalite-related crimes that happened in 2019 at Kodihara village in Paliganj sub-division, Patna district.
Satendra Ravidas is from the Daudnagar area of Aurangabad district and has serious charges against him for being involved in more than seven Naxalite cases. These incidents include murder, extortion, and damaging government property. The police have been searching for him for many years.
In 2019, he was involved in damaging machinery during road construction in Kodihara and even demanded money (levy) from workers. He also pasted a slip on an electric pole asking for levy. Multiple cases had been filed against him at the Khidi Mode police station in January 2019 and later in July 2019.
His arrest happened last night after careful police action and cooperation with the STF. The police are now interrogating him to uncover more about other Naxalite networks and their plans. This is happening amid heightened political activity in Bihar as assembly elections approach.
The police are taking strong action in light of these events. The focus is on ensuring safety and investigating the connections that Satendra might have with other criminal activities in the region.
