RJD Leader Ritu Jaiswal Transforms Sitamarhi’s Singhwahini Panchayat into Model Village Through Empowering Initiatives

Ritu Jaiswal is a well-known leader in Bihar. She wanted to contest elections from the Parihar Assembly seat in Sitamarhi, but the RJD party gave the ticket to someone else. In response, Ritu decided to run as an independent candidate. Earlier, the party had planned to nominate her from Belsand, which led to her expressing serious concerns about the decision-making in the party.

Ritu hails from a simple family in Hajipur. After completing her education, she worked as a teacher in Delhi but felt unfulfilled there. She realized that true progress happens when villages develop, which motivated her to return to Bihar and work for her community.

In 2016, Ritu took on the challenge of improving conditions in Singhwahini Panchayat, where she faced issues like dirt, unemployment, and a lack of education. After winning the election for Mukhiya, she focused on better sanitation, education, and creating job opportunities for women. Her leadership transformed the Panchayat into an ideal model for others.

During her time as Mukhiya, Ritu introduced several initiatives that revitalized rural life. These included waste management, a digital Panchayat system, training centers for women, and modern classrooms for children. She believes that development should ensure everyone in society has equal opportunities, not just improved infrastructure.

Ritu Jaiswal’s efforts have gained recognition both nationally and internationally, earning her various awards for her contributions to rural development. With support from her husband, who is also involved in social service, she continues to connect with people through social media, sharing her work and engaging with the community.
