A man was shot dead in Patna on Chhoti Diwali, and the police have arrested a suspect related to the case.
In Patna, on 19th October 2025, which was Chhoti Diwali, a man was shot dead near a muddy tank in Kajipur area. The police received information about the shooting, and when they arrived, they found the victim, Harsh alias Mrityunjay Kumar, seriously injured. He was rushed to PMCH for treatment, but the doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
After the incident, the police quickly formed a team led by the Town DSP to investigate the matter. They acted swiftly and arrested Rahul Kumar, the main suspect, just a few hours later. This was done under the guidance of the City Superintendent of Police in Central Patna, showcasing their commitment to resolving the case.
Rahul Kumar admitted during questioning that he shot Harsh due to an old rivalry involving his brother. It seems there was a backstory, as Harsh had previously shot Rahul’s brother, Daulat, in 2019. This murder appears to be an act of revenge following Daulat’s injury.
Authorities are also looking for four other suspects who are currently absconding. They are checking the criminal records of Rahul Kumar to understand any previous incidents related to him, which could shed more light on this case.
It’s important to note that this shooting happened just 150 meters away from the Kadamkuan police station, while Harsh was out for a walk with friends. The police are actively working to ensure that all involved in this incident are brought to justice.
