Bihar Gears Up for 2025 Elections Amid Chhath Festivities, Political Leaders Campaigning Across the State

Political activity is heating up in Bihar as the assembly elections are approaching in 2025. The first phase of voting is set for November 6, with nominations for the second phase on November 11. At the same time, the popular festival of Chhath has also begun, leading to a mix of celebrations and political maneuvering.

Senior political leaders from various parties are touring Bihar to connect with voters. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda visited the state. Meanwhile, Lalu Yadav, a key leader from the RJD, criticized the BJP government for their handling of train services during the Chhath festival.

Lalu Yadav took to social media to express his concerns. He claimed that despite promises of running 12,000 special trains for Chhath, the reality is different. He highlighted that many Biharis are struggling to travel home for the festival and are facing difficulties due to inadequate train services.

He also pointed out that the situation is shameful, as many people from Bihar have to migrate for work every year due to a lack of job opportunities in their home state. Lalu suggested that the current government’s policies have not benefitted the people of Bihar and have instead forced them to find work elsewhere.

In light of these challenges, opposition leaders are questioning the government’s claims about the special trains. They argue that the promised services are not being delivered, leaving many passengers in a tough spot as they try to return home for the festival.
