This article shares information about traffic rules and arrangements for the Chhath festival in Patna.
Traffic rules are changing in Patna for the Chhath festival, which is a big event for many people. To make sure that devotees reach the ghats without any hassle, the local administration has set up special traffic arrangements. These will be in place from the afternoon of 27th October until the morning of 28th October.
During this time, only Chhath devotees and official vehicles can use the roads near the Ganga ghats. Many roads will be completely closed for general public and private vehicles. For instance, Ashok Rajpath and JP Gangapath will have no vehicle movement from noon on 27th October until 7 PM and again from 2 PM on 28th October until 8 AM.
Devotees can park their vehicles in designated areas like Khazanchi Road and Patna College. Regular vehicles will be redirected during peak hours. On 27th October, there will be restrictions on movement from Digha Mod to Ashiana Mod, and similar restrictions will apply the next morning. People should plan accordingly to avoid any delays.
Heavy vehicles such as trucks and buses will not be allowed on Atal Path. There will also be restrictions for normal vehicles on this route during specific hours on both days. Emergency vehicles will have access to certain areas, but everyone else should find alternative routes to avoid the busy spots.
The administration suggests using Mahatma Gandhi Setu for those heading to Sonpur and Hajipur. This traffic management is aimed at helping devotees during the Chhath festival, ensuring safety and convenience for everyone involved.
