This article shares news about a new railway project in Bihar aimed at improving train services between Bihar and North-East India.
Eastern Railway is planning a big change for train travel between Bihar and North-East India. They have proposed building a third and fourth railway line between Barharwa and Bhagalpur. This project will cost around Rs 4879.63 crore and will cover a total of 256 kilometers.
The new railway lines will be 128 kilometers each, making it easier for both freight and passenger trains to run. This development is expected to boost business and financial profits significantly, helping improve services in North Bihar and nearby regions.
Once these lines are built, train speeds will increase, and delays will be reduced. Currently, many passenger trains get delayed because they have to wait for goods trains to pass. With the new lines, trains can run smoothly, benefiting everyone who uses the rail service.
This project is projected to bring financial gains of around Rs 538 crore annually, along with commercial benefits of Rs 1341 crore. It will also pave the way for faster trains like Vande Bharat and Vande Metro to operate on this route.
Additionally, there is already a plan for a third railway line between Bhagalpur and Jamalpur, which will stretch 53 kilometers and is expected to cost Rs 1156 crore. The completion of this project is planned for the next three years, and the process of acquiring land for it is currently underway.
