Tragic Truck Accident on Sarmera-Bihta Highway Claims Young Life; Authorities Urged to Enhance Road Safety Measures

In Nalanda district, a heartbreaking incident took place on Monday morning when a truck lost control and hit a family on a bike. The accident happened on the Sarmera-Bihta Highway near Bhandari village, and sadly, a 10-year-old girl named Nitya Kumari lost her life in the crash. Her father, Nitish Kumar, and brother, Dholu Kumar, were also injured and are currently in critical condition.

The family was on their way to school when a speeding truck collided with them. The impact was so strong that all three of them were thrown onto the road. Nitya died on the spot, while her father lay unconscious and her brother was in severe pain, covered in blood. As news spread, local villagers gathered and blocked the highway in protest, demanding justice and compensation.

For about two hours, the traffic was at a standstill on the highway due to the protests. The scene was filled with chaos as villagers mourned the loss. The police arrived to manage the situation, and after negotiations, they cleared the road. The authorities took Nitya’s body for a post-mortem and later returned it to her family.

At the time of the accident, there was heavy fog, which made visibility very poor. The truck driver fled the scene after the collision, and the police are now searching for him. They are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the truck and its driver.

Next steps involve the police continuing their investigation to locate the truck driver. Meanwhile, the family is grieving the loss of Nitya and fighting for justice. The community remains on alert and is demanding accountability for this tragic event.
