Historic Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 Sees Record Turnout, Exceeding 64.46% Voter Participation by 6 PM

The Bihar Assembly elections in 2025 are creating quite a buzz with an impressive voter turnout. By 6 PM, more than 64.46% of registered voters had cast their votes. Since some booths have not reported their numbers yet, the final turnout could exceed 67%, marking a historic high for Bihar.

In the past, the highest voter turnout in Bihar was 62.6%, recorded in the year 2000 during a politically unstable period. With Nitish Kumar’s long-term governance and the current enthusiasm for democratic participation, this year’s elections are witnessing a significant increase in voter engagement compared to 2020, which had a turnout of 56.9%.
