Following orders from District Magistrate Tanay Sultania, the Prohibition Department has been conducting raids and checking vehicles regularly. Recently, Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition Rajneesh received a tip-off about a large shipment of foreign liquor being transported from Uttar Pradesh to Vaishali.

In response, a raid team was put together under the guidance of Inspector Prakash Chandra. They successfully intercepted a Hyundai Creta car on the Buxar Patna Four Lane near Kayamnagar Over Bridge. During the search, they found a large quantity of illegal foreign liquor hidden inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Rahul Kumar from Vaishali, has been arrested and is facing legal action. The raid revealed a total of 1,368 bottles of various whiskey brands, including 8 PM Special Blended Scotch and Officer’s Choice Original, summing up to nearly 260 liters of liquor.

The seized liquor is valued at around Rs 4 lakh and was meant to be delivered in Vaishali. The operation involved a team of officials, including Inspectors and constables from different units, working together to combat the illegal liquor trade.

This successful raid highlights the ongoing efforts of the Prohibition Department to crack down on illegal liquor transportation in the region. The authorities will continue to monitor and take action against such activities to ensure compliance with the law.
