What’s inside:

This article informs about the cancellation and changes in train services by Indian Railways due to foggy weather from December 2025 to March 2026.

Indian Railways has announced some important changes to train services because of the dense fog expected in the winter. From December 2025 to March 2026, there will be cancellations and changes affecting 48 trains that run in and out of Bihar. This decision is made to ensure the safety of passengers during the foggy season.

Out of the 48 trains, 24 will be completely canceled, and the other 24 will have fewer operating days. For instance, the Howrah-Mathura Junction Chambal Express and Mathura-Howrah Chambal Express will not run on certain dates between December and February. This is necessary to maintain safety standards during poor visibility conditions.

Passengers should be aware that many long-distance trains will also have cancellations. For example, the Gwalior-Barauni Express will not operate on Mondays and Thursdays, while the Ajmer-Sealdah Express will be canceled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays during the same period. It’s important to check specific train schedules for the dates that affect your travel plans.

The Railways has urged passengers to confirm their train status before traveling to avoid any inconvenience. With winter fog increasing the chances of accidents, ensuring safe train operations is their top priority. More adjustments to the train schedule may happen if needed as the season progresses.

Travelers should stay updated on the changes and cancellations. This will help in planning their journeys without any surprises. The railways remain committed to passenger safety and will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Summary:

  • Indian Railways cancels and changes operations for 48 trains in Bihar.

  • 24 trains will be fully canceled, and 24 will run less frequently.

  • Specific trains like Gwalior-Barauni Express will not operate on certain days.

  • Passengers are advised to check train statuses to avoid issues.

  • Safety during the foggy season remains the main concern for Railways.
