Nitish Kumar has been elected as the leader of JDU after the Bihar elections, and he will take oath as Chief Minister at Gandhi Maidan.

Nitish Kumar is back as the leader of the JDU after a successful showing in the Bihar Assembly elections. The party has secured 85 seats, showcasing its strong position in the state. Newly elected MLAs chose him as their leader during a meeting on Wednesday.

On November 20, Nitish Kumar will be sworn in as Chief Minister in a grand ceremony at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. This is significant as it marks the first time in ten years that the oath-taking ceremony will be held at this historic location. The Governor, Arif Mohammad Khan, will administer the oath at 1:30 PM on Thursday.

The public can enter Gandhi Maidan starting at 10 AM for the ceremony, which will include celebrations from 1 PM to 2:30 PM. After Nitish Kumar’s swearing-in, other ministers will also take their oaths. The event is expected to attract a large crowd.

Special security measures have been set up for the event, especially with the attendance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and various chief ministers from BJP-ruled states. Security checks at Patna Airport and along the route to Gandhi Maidan have been thoroughly reviewed to ensure a smooth experience for all VIPs.

This ceremony at Gandhi Maidan is particularly special as it has been a decade since it last hosted such an event. Nitish Kumar first took the oath here in 2005 and again in 2010 and 2015. The last ceremony in 2020 was held at Raj Bhavan due to the pandemic.
