Adani Group is building a power plant in Bhagalpur, Bihar, and has requested land for an airstrip to improve accessibility for its workers.
Adani Group is currently working on the Pirpainti Power Plant in Bhagalpur district, Bihar. The construction has kicked off, and now the company has asked the local authorities for land to build an airstrip. This request has been communicated through a letter to the district administration.
In the letter, Adani Power Limited has specifically requested around 100 meters of width and 2000 meters of length for the airstrip. The company is setting up three power plant units, each with a capacity of 800 MW, in the Pirpainti block. The officials and employees are facing difficulties traveling to the site due to poor road conditions.
The company highlighted that there is currently no airstrip near the construction site, prompting their search for suitable land. Bhagalpur District Magistrate Naval Kishore Chaudhary has directed the Sub-Divisional Officer in Kahalgaon to address this request.
The land identified for the airstrip lies between Kahalgaon and Peerpainti. Although it will take some time to conduct surveys and prepare reports, Adani has already initiated the permission process with the state government.
Meanwhile, the construction of the power plant is gaining speed, with technical teams being deployed to the site. The local community is hopeful that this project will create job opportunities and lead to overall development in the region. The district administration is moving forward with the necessary steps to evaluate the land and make a final decision soon.
