Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will take oath for the tenth time today, leading to significant traffic changes in Patna.
Today is an important day in Bihar politics as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will take his oath at 11:30 am at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. This will be his tenth time taking the oath, a record in the state. Nitish first became Chief Minister in 2000 but only served for seven days. Since 2005, he has been in power continuously, making today’s ceremony quite special.
Along with Nitish, 20 other leaders, including two Deputy Chief Ministers from the BJP, will also be sworn in as ministers. The event is expected to be grand, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other ministers and Chief Ministers from different states attending the ceremony. This has stirred quite a bit of political activity in Patna.
Because of the swearing-in ceremony, there will be major changes to traffic in Patna today. From 6 am to 3 pm, many busy roads will be completely closed to vehicles, especially those leading to Gandhi Maidan. Only emergency vehicles like ambulances and fire brigades will be allowed on these routes.
Key roads such as Bhattacharya Road, SP Verma Road, and others leading to Gandhi Maidan will be shut off. The traffic police have made alternative routes and parking arrangements for people. Emergency routes are also set up to ensure that patients can reach hospitals quickly if needed.
Medical services are on high alert with teams and ambulances ready at major entry points to Gandhi Maidan. Parking for 400 vehicles has been arranged on Old Ashok Rajpath, and alternate routes for cars have been established. The public will be allowed to enter Gandhi Maidan through specific gates, while strict measures are in place to ensure everything runs smoothly during the ceremony.
