A woman and her child were saved from a potential accident at Gaya Junction when the RPF constable acted quickly to prevent them from falling into the gap between the train and platform.
On Wednesday, a serious accident was avoided at Gaya Junction when the Gaya–Patliputra Express was about to leave from platform number 5. A woman carrying her two-year-old child tried to jump onto the moving train in a hurry.
While this was happening, RPF constable Rajiv Pal was on patrol nearby and noticed the woman losing her balance near the edge of the platform. He quickly ran to her just in time, grabbing her and the child and pulling them back to safety.
Thanks to Rajiv Pal’s quick action, both the woman and her child were unharmed, though the woman was understandably shaken up. After the incident, they were assisted and later took another train to Patna.
Passengers at the station were relieved and praised Rajiv Pal for his bravery. Many expressed that if he had taken even a second longer, the situation could have turned disastrous.
The whole incident was recorded on CCTV, and the RPF has since reminded passengers to avoid trying to board or alight from moving trains, as it can be very dangerous. RPF Inspector Banarasi Das emphasized the importance of safety at railway stations.
