What’s inside:

This article talks about Rabri Devi’s petitions in a court regarding the IRCTC and Land for Job scams, seeking a change of judge.

Rabri Devi, the former Chief Minister of Bihar and a senior RJD leader, has recently filed three important petitions in the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi. She is requesting to move the hearings related to two cases by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and one by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to a different court.

As part of this legal process, the District Judge has issued a notice to both the CBI and ED, asking them to respond to Rabri Devi’s petitions. The court will decide the next steps after receiving their replies. The next hearing is scheduled for December 6, which will also include a separate petition that Rabri Devi filed earlier.

In her recent petition, Rabri Devi expressed concerns about bias in the court handling the IRCTC scam case. She believes that the judge is not being fair and has asked for the case to be moved to another court. Currently, Judge Vishal Gogane is overseeing the IRCTC scam case, which involves several key figures, including Rabri Devi and her family.

The IRCTC case revolves around alleged corruption in leasing railway hotels between 2004 and 2009. The court has already framed charges under relevant laws, and previous attempts by Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi to challenge the daily hearings have been rejected.

Meanwhile, the investigations by both the CBI and ED are ongoing. The CBI claims that land was transferred to Lalu Yadav’s family in return for jobs in the Railways, while the ED focuses on how these transactions were used to conceal corrupt earnings.

Summary:

  • Rabri Devi has filed petitions in a Delhi court.

  • She is requesting a change of judge for the ongoing cases.

  • The court has asked the CBI and ED for their responses.

  • Concerns about bias in the current court have been raised.

  • Investigations related to the scams are still active.
