This article talks about the cold weather currently affecting Bihar, including temperature drops and foggy conditions.
As December has started, Bihar is feeling the chill. Cold winds and fog during mornings and nights are making people shiver, but the sunny days are a bit of a relief. The Meteorological Department has noted that the minimum temperature is dropping across the state and it might get even colder in the next couple of days.
On Sunday, many areas, including Patna, recorded lower temperatures. The minimum temperature was between 12.6 to 20.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum ranged from 26.5 to 29.4 degrees. Kishanganj was the coldest spot with a minimum of 12.6 degrees, while Forbesganj saw a maximum of 29.4 degrees. Purnia reported low visibility of just 500 meters due to fog.
Kaimur district has turned out to be the coldest area in the last day. The Adhaura block recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4°C. Other districts like West Champaran, Gopalganj, and Patna saw temperatures between 10 to 14 °C, indicating that the cold is really hitting hard now.
For the next two days, dense fog and dry weather are expected. Light to moderate fog is likely in many parts of the state, especially affecting visibility in West and East Champaran, Sitamarhi, and Kishanganj among others. The night and morning temperatures may drop further by 2 to 3°C.
In North and South-West Bihar, the minimum temperature will be around 10–14°C. For other regions, it will be between 14–16°C. Daytime temperatures are expected to be around 24–28°C, meaning it will still feel warm during the day but quite cold in the mornings and evenings.
