This article provides updates on traffic arrangements and security measures during the International Tripitaka Chatting Festival in Bodh Gaya.
The International Tripitaka Chatting Festival is happening in Bodh Gaya from December 2 to 12. This year, it is expected to be quite large, with over twenty thousand guests expected at Kalachakra Ground. To manage the huge number of visitors, the district administration has set up a strict traffic plan for the area, which will be in place throughout the festival.
To reduce crowding on the Mahabodhi Temple Road, normal vehicles are no longer allowed on the roads leading from Embassy Mod and Verma Mod towards the temple. Only vehicles with special passes can use these routes. Additionally, the movement of large vehicles has been restricted near the temple and Kalachakra Maidan to ensure smooth traffic flow.
There have been changes in routes for vehicles coming to the city. Drivers from the Ghughritand side can now take the Sujata bypass to reach Node-01 and Domuhan directly. Those coming from Domuhan and Node-01 must use the Rebhar side road towards Rajapur turn. Furthermore, the road from Embassy Mod to Verma Mod has been declared a no-parking zone to prevent congestion.
Security measures have been beefed up, with barriers and security gates set up at key locations around the city. Areas like Burma Mod, Embassy Mod, and Children Park have extensive security arrangements. Special checks will also be conducted at the main entry gates of Kalachakra Maidan to ensure safety.
The administration is urging all visitors to follow the designated routes and not to park in unauthorized areas. Cooperation during security checks is crucial for ensuring the safety of the large number of people attending the festival without any issues.
