In Bihar, there’s a strong push from the new government to remove illegal encroachments on government land. Recently, a campaign took place in Bhimnagar, where officials worked till 4 PM to clear out these encroachments.

The campaign started early in the morning, with Basantpur CO Hemant Kumar arriving at Bhimnagar police station at 10 AM. Heavy machinery like JCBs and laborers from Veerpur Nagar Panchayat were brought in to assist the operation. More than two dozen SSB personnel were present, ready to help with the removal process.

Before the operation began, many roadside shopkeepers started taking down their benches and other belongings as a precaution. The encroachment campaign kicked off from the Bhimnagar Colony turn, targeting various areas identified for removal.

During the campaign, officials managed to clear the outer sections of shops near Bhimnagar Colony turn. The JCBs worked on removing encroachments along the roads leading to Bhantabari turn, freeing up to 300 meters of encroached land. Shops and houses along the route were also cleared.

Basantpur CO Hemant Kumar mentioned that this operation was successful due to the cooperation of the locals. Many people voluntarily removed their structures, while others who didn’t were taken care of by the officials. The process has been smooth without any law and order issues.
