This article discusses the rising flight prices due to the wedding season in Bihar, with ticket costs skyrocketing from Patna to various cities.

Wedding season is in full swing in Bihar, and many Bihari people are flying back home from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. With the rush of weddings, flights are now the quickest way to travel, but this has led to a huge increase in ticket prices.

At Patna airport, the demand for flights has surged so much that fares have shot up by five times. For instance, a ticket from Patna to Kolkata, which typically costs around Rs 4,000, is now priced at a shocking Rs 66,765 for certain flights. This is even more expensive than some international flights!

The prices for flights to Mumbai have also skyrocketed. A ticket that used to be available for Rs 8,000-9,000 is now being sold for around Rs 40,000 for non-stop flights and over Rs 50,000 for flights with stopovers. Air India’s flights are particularly high, reaching around Rs 52,303.

Other routes like Bengaluru and Chennai are not far behind. A ticket that used to cost Rs 7,000 is now priced at Rs 60,666 for Bengaluru. Similarly, fares for Chennai have also crossed Rs 50,000 from a previous range of Rs 7,000-8,000.

Interestingly, on December 5, a flight from Delhi to London is available for just Rs 27,026, while a ticket from Patna to Delhi is almost double at Rs 51,332. The current high fares are expected to normalize soon as the wedding rush settles down.

Summary:

  • High demand for flights due to wedding season in Bihar.

  • Ticket prices have risen dramatically, up to five times.

  • Patna to Kolkata tickets now cost around Rs 66,765.

  • Prices for flights to Mumbai and Bengaluru have also skyrocketed.

  • Fares are expected to drop once the wedding season calms down.
