What’s inside:

Indigo Airlines flights have been continuously cancelled, causing chaos at Patna Airport and a spike in ticket prices for alternate flights.

Indigo Airlines has been cancelling many of its flights, and this was very noticeable at Patna Airport on Friday. The airport was packed with passengers who were left stranded, leading some to cancel their travel plans altogether.

Passengers heading to Delhi faced the toughest situation. For instance, a SpiceJet flight scheduled for Saturday night was priced at a shocking Rs 60,000. Tickets for Air India Express also went above Rs 20,000, while normally they only cost between Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 for the same trip.

It wasn’t just Delhi; flights to Chennai and Mumbai also saw a massive increase in fares. On Saturday, tickets from Patna to Chennai were over Rs 41,000, and by Sunday, they shot up to more than Rs 46,000. For Mumbai, prices ranged from Rs 46,000 to Rs 90,000, with most flights already fully booked.

At Patna airport, things were chaotic. Long lines formed at the counters as people sought refunds, rescheduling, and cancellations. Meanwhile, the arrival area felt unusually quiet, as many flights were cancelled and fewer passengers arrived.

Passengers expressed their distress over the situation, mentioning they were not informed about the flight cancellations beforehand. Many said they would have chosen trains or buses if they had known. The sudden rise in fares has disrupted travel plans for many, and the situation at the airport remains uncertain.

  • Indigo Airlines has cancelled multiple flights affecting Patna Airport.

  • Ticket prices for alternate flights to Delhi and other cities have skyrocketed.

  • Passengers are facing long lines for cancellations and refunds at the airport.

  • The situation has caused a lot of confusion and distress among travelers.
