This article talks about a big police operation against liquor smuggling in Nawada, Bihar, where thousands of liters of alcohol were seized along with motorcycles.

In a significant crackdown, Nawada police have taken strong action against liquor smugglers in Bihar. This operation took place in the areas of Kauwakol and Parnadabar, where police seized a large quantity of illegal liquor and some motorcycles. The police were quick to respond to the smugglers’ tactics, which aimed to evade capture.

During this operation, the police recovered about 3,800 liters of local Mahua liquor and 117 liters of foreign liquor. They found these being transported through forest routes on a convoy of 17 motorcycles. The liquor mafia seemed to be gearing up for the New Year celebrations, making their illegal activities more frequent.

When the smugglers spotted the police during their patrol, they abandoned their motorcycles and fled into the forest. The total value of the seized liquor is estimated to be over Rs 10 lakh, with local Mahua liquor being sold at up to Rs 100 for a 200 ml glass. The motorcycles themselves are worth around Rs 17 lakh.

Many of the smugglers involved in this case were young individuals who tried to mislead the police by forming groups. Following this incident, the police and the Excise Department are on high alert and have stepped up surveillance in forest areas to prevent further violations of liquor prohibition laws.

The strict instructions from the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police have led to a more organized effort against liquor smuggling. The authorities plan to continue monitoring forest roads closely and take strict actions against anyone breaking the law.

  • Major police action against liquor smuggling in Nawada, Bihar.

  • Thousands of liters of illegal liquor and 17 motorcycles seized.

  • Smugglers fled when they spotted police during the patrol.

  • Total value of seized liquor and motorcycles estimated at Rs 27 lakh.

  • Increased surveillance on forest roads to prevent future smuggling.
