This article talks about the Bihar government’s new scheme to support women’s self-employment with financial assistance.
Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has launched a new scheme aimed at helping women start their own businesses. This initiative is part of the Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme, which is designed to promote self-employment among women in both rural and urban areas.
Under this scheme, women can apply for financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to kickstart their own businesses. The government plans to support these women further by providing up to Rs 2 lakh to help them grow their enterprises. Applications are open and women are encouraged to apply.
The deadline to apply for this assistance is set for 31st December 2025. So, women interested in this scheme should make sure to apply before this date to benefit from the initiative. So far, around 1.56 crore women in Bihar have received the initial support amount.
After the first Rs 10,000, women can receive Rs 2 lakh in installments to expand their businesses. This money will be released based on the progress of their work. The government is also planning training programs to help women become skilled entrepreneurs.
However, there are some challenges. About 10 lakh applications are still pending due to errors in Aadhar card or bank account details. The government is working on resolving these issues. Additionally, a few men mistakenly received the Rs 10,000 assistance, and the authorities are addressing this technical mistake as well.
