This article provides updates about the severe cold wave in Bihar and its impact on the weather conditions.

Severe cold weather is gripping Bihar these days. The Meteorological Department is giving out several warnings about the intense cold. On Sunday, the first snowfall of the season happened in the hilly regions, which has made the cold even worse in the plains. The snowfall was first recorded in Jammu and Kashmir, with similar conditions seen in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, affecting the entire North India, including Bihar.

The Meteorological Department has now issued strict warnings. Cold day conditions are expected in many places like Arwal, Aurangabad, Begusarai, Bhojpur, and Patna over the next 24 hours. For the last four days, the sun hasn’t been seen in more than half of Bihar. The cold is increasing due to westerly winds, making daily life challenging for many people.

In some good news, a little sunshine was visible in Patna and many other districts today. However, Rajgir, located near Patna, has recorded extremely low temperatures, even lower than some well-known cold cities like Shimla and Dehradun. The temperature in Rajgir has dropped to 6.6 degrees Celsius, which is quite unusual for this region and five districts in Bihar have recorded temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Center predicts that the cold will become even harsher in the coming week, with minimum temperatures possibly falling by another 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. After December 25, there might be a serious cold-day situation in Bihar, where temperatures will stay much below normal both day and night. People are advised to take precautions against the cold, especially to protect children and the elderly.

As the cold wave continues, residents are reminded to stay alert and prepared. The situation calls for careful attention to health and safety during this chilly weather. It’s essential to keep warm and check on those who may need help, ensuring everyone stays safe through this cold spell.

Summary:

  • Severe cold weather is affecting Bihar.

  • Snowfall in hilly areas has intensified the cold in plains.

  • Cold day conditions expected in many districts.

  • Rajgir recorded a temperature lower than Shimla.

  • Further drop in temperature is predicted soon.
