Government Extends Application Deadline for Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, Empowering Women Across Bihar Until December 2025

The Chief Minister Mahila Rojgar Yojana is back in focus as the government pushes for women’s self-reliance. The last date to apply for the Rs 10,000 assistance for women is set for December 31, 2025. Women from both urban and rural areas can submit their applications before this date.

This initiative is seen as a significant move for women’s empowerment. After the initial assistance of Rs 10,000, women may receive further support of up to Rs 2 lakh to help them start their own businesses. However, this money will be given in installments, with monitoring to ensure that women are progressing in their ventures.

The government aims to go beyond just financial aid. They are also developing a training program to help women gain skills, ensuring that this scheme is not just a formality. So far, over 1.56 crore women in the state have received the Rs 10,000 assistance, which is a substantial achievement.

In various districts, a significant number of women have benefited from this scheme. For example, in East Champaran, Muzaffarpur, and Madhubani, more than seven lakh women have received help. Other districts like West Champaran and Patna have also seen over six lakh women benefiting from this initiative.

However, there are challenges too. Nearly one million women who applied are still waiting for their funds due to issues with Aadhaar or bank accounts. Additionally, about 400 men mistakenly received this assistance, and while actions are pending, some are already returning the money. This situation is prompting discussions about the scheme’s effectiveness and accountability.
