This article talks about the recent increase in railway fares in Faridabad and its impact on passengers.

Railway fares have gone up from Friday, as announced by the Ministry of Railways. This increase affects general ticket prices for trains departing from Faridabad to various destinations, with hikes ranging from ₹5 to ₹35.

The biggest impact is felt by passengers traveling from Faridabad to Bihar, where the general ticket fare has risen by ₹30 to ₹35. This increase adds to the burden for workers, students, and other travelers who were already facing high travel costs.

Traveling to nearby stations like Mathura and Agra has also become more expensive. For instance, the distance to Mathura is about 113 kilometers and to Agra around 167 kilometers, both of which are within the 215-kilometer limit. Despite this, the fare for express trains has increased by ₹5, affecting daily commuters.

Railway authorities have confirmed that ticket prices have increased between ₹5 to ₹15 depending on the distance. Passengers taking superfast trains will now also have to pay an additional ₹15 on top of the new fares.

This fare hike has added financial strain on travelers, especially those who travel frequently or over long distances. Many are concerned about how this will affect their budgets, particularly in a time of rising costs in other areas of life.

Summary:

  • Rail fares in Faridabad increased from Friday.

  • General ticket prices went up by ₹5 to ₹35.

  • Travel to Bihar saw the highest fare increases.

  • Nearby routes like Mathura and Agra also became pricier.

  • Passengers are concerned about the added financial burden.
