This article provides updates on train services in Bihar following a recent train accident.
Recently, there was a serious train accident near Simultala station in Bihar. After 67 hours of the incident, a goods train started running from Jhajha to Dhanbad around 5:50 PM on Tuesday.
Passenger train services on the Patna-Hawrah route resumed at night, with the Gorakhpur-Sambalpur Maurya Express arriving at Jhajha around 10 PM. The train passed over the bridge where the accident happened, indicating that the track is now safe.
However, the up track is still not operational. Efforts are ongoing to clear the line, and as of Tuesday evening, clearance was given for the down line. Additionally, a goods train was also sent to Panagarh from Jhajha.
Several trains have had their routes changed due to this accident. Some of these include the Madhupur-Anand Vihar Humsafar Express and the Howrah-Patna Vande Bharat Express, which are now running via different stations.
Meanwhile, the Howrah-Patna Jan Shatabdi Express services were canceled for Wednesday due to the disruptions. However, the Vande Bharat trains are operating normally without any issues.
