This article discusses the cold weather conditions in Bihar, including dense fog and low temperatures affecting daily life.

This new year has brought a cold wave to Bihar, with chilly weather, fog, and low temperatures affecting the state. People are feeling the chill in the air, especially in the mornings when thick fog covers the streets. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for cold days in several districts, with dense fog being a common sight.

The weather is quite severe in parts of Gopalganj, Siwan, Muzaffarpur, and others, where temperatures have dropped significantly. On Thursday, many areas recorded minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. While there is a slight rise in temperatures during the day, the fog continues to hang over North Bihar, making it hard to see the sun.

As a result of this cold weather, people in districts like Chhapra and Madhubani are facing very cold days. In places like Jehanabad and Begusarai, visibility has dropped to less than 10 meters due to the thick fog. The lowest temperature recorded was about 5.8 degrees Celsius in Siwan, making it a tough time for residents.

The Meteorological Center has declared an orange alert for fog and cold days in 38 districts. It seems that this cold spell will last until January 5, with temperatures possibly dropping another 2 to 3 degrees in some areas. The forecast suggests that cold waves may continue across various districts throughout January.

Even the capital city, Patna, is not spared from this winter chill. Morning fog is causing traffic issues, and while there might be some sun during the day, the cold winds are making it feel even colder. This harsh winter has disrupted daily life, and it looks like the chill will remain for a while longer.

Summary:

  • Bihar is experiencing a cold wave with heavy fog.

  • Many districts have reported temperatures below 10°C.

  • Visibility is severely affected in some areas.

  • An orange alert has been issued for 38 districts.

  • Cold weather is expected to continue till at least January 5.
